One of the things that makes shooting events fun are the detail shots. The details that get meticulously picked out by the planner, the details that help create the ambiance for the event. That, and most people at a party, are having a good time, so smiling faces and festive looks are fast to come by.

FOUR THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN BOOKING A PHOTOGRAPHER FOR YOUR EVENT:

  1. The first thing your photographer will want to know is the event date. The next will be the location and duration of time you’ll need them there, but these can be worked on as you go.

  2. Do you have specific things/people you’d like photographed? It’s common for events to have a checklist of people or items you’d like captured, so don’t be afraid to share some ideas with your photographer.

  3. If you can book months in advance, book months in advance.

  4. Double-check with your venue. Some venues have restrictions on who they allow as a vendor on the property, so it’s always good to check-in.
